With March behind us, spring has officially kicked off in full force—meaning it’s time for spring cleaning, fresh starts, and a whole lot of decluttering. I’m in full-on purge mode, getting rid of anything that’s not serving us, whether it’s donating, selling, or tossing. My sister is hosting a community garage sale this weekend, and while I love a good garage sale (Midwestern roots, after all!), I’ve learned that Texas garage sales hit differently. People down here expect everything for next to nothing—even brand-new items with tags! I get it, but it also kind of ruins the fun when people balk at paying even a few bucks for something still in perfect condition. Regardless, I’ll be there to support my sister and see if we can clear out some of the extras.

Another thing I’m focused on this season? Self-development. I love finding ways to push myself toward growth, whether it’s learning something new or improving how I interact with others. As Lent approached, I set a personal goal: to respond more intentionally instead of answering too quickly or too harshly. Life gets busy, and I’ve caught myself giving fast, thoughtless responses when asked for something—whether from Lilith, Preston, or anyone else. It’s not that I’m trying to be short, but sometimes, I don’t even pause to think before answering. So, I’m working on listening more and slowing down my responses.
I’m also diving into more audiobooks—Audible is my best friend these days. I’d love to get to the point where I’m listening to one book a week, but realistically, I’m shooting for at least one or two per month. Whether it’s fiction, memoirs, or self-improvement, I just love the ability to absorb new ideas while doing other things. Reading has always been a challenge for me (I suspect I might have dyslexia), but listening to books opens up a whole new world that I can visualize as I go. If you’re an audiobook lover too, drop your recommendations—I’m always looking for something new!
Lastly, our inflatable rental business kicked off its season with our first event! Everything went smoothly, and while there are still some things we’d love to add to make the process easier, it feels great to see how much we’ve grown since we started. It’s one of those things that has been a learning curve, but every rental makes us better.
So, with spring in full swing, it’s all about growth—whether it’s decluttering, self-improvement, or business expansion. Here’s to making the most of the season and embracing all the fresh starts it brings!
