You know that feeling when the chaos settles, and the real fun starts? That’s where we are right now.

Lilith is officially taking a breather after a busy fair season, but it won’t last long—jackpot shows start late this summer and she is pumped. Already looking forward to all those new animals and we have even got the barn setup swapped around. As I think you may be aware by now, we’re keeping Judas and Peter (because let’s be honest, they’ve kind of stolen our hearts). In late June or July we plan to get the new additions. The two new goaties that is. We’re thinking a dapple or a sleek black one—something a little different to shake things up in the show ring. 🐐

And because life isn’t chaotic enough, we’re also looking into a Maine Anjou for our teeny girls heifer. That’s still up for debate if we can find a breeder close by. Either way Lilith’s ready for the challenge and honestly, so are we. It’s wild to watch her dive into this lifestyle with such passion and purpose. Watching her confidence grow has been one of the biggest joys of this season. 💪🏼

And me? Well this summer semester I’m wrapping up my associate degree and planning ahead for my bachelor’s in what I think will be something still geared in business management. It’s been a long road (with a few all-nighters), but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do with event planning—maybe keep it a hobby, maybe go all in—but that’s the beauty of growth. You get to decide. 🎓

Summer’s going to be full. Full of learning, hauling goats, sweating, and dreaming. So far on the roster we know we will be getting some new animals, and switching up the barn to fit everyone. Lilith has her trip to Ireland with her FFA group and I imagine we’ll probably catch some jackpot shows just so she doesn’t get rusty. She’s got church camp on the calendar and an exciting visit to the Holocaust Museum (her fave) and the botanical garden in Houston. Super pumped and ready for all the fun. Also shhhh she doesn’t know it but I’m trying to plan a quick adult girls getaway to Fredericksburg while the teenie girl is away on her FFA trip. Don’t tell her she will be upset for me to go anywhere without her. 🤣
