Man, I know it’s been awhile—but life has a way of getting hectic, doesn’t it? We’ve been juggling so much lately, but I’m back with an update on all the chaos, blessings, and changes that are filling our days.
The biggest news? Our young lady has officially started her senior year of high school. It feels surreal to even type that. On top of the senior-year milestones, we’ve added a few more four-legged friends to our little farm family. Don’t ask how it happened (lol), but we are now the proud caretakers of three new goats and two sheep. We’ve kept with the biblical naming tradition, so please welcome Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Thaddeus, and Titus—joining Judas and Peter from last year. Seven animals. Yes, seven. And yes, it’s a lot. But she’s handling it like a champ!
This month also came with some harder lessons for me personally. I reached out with what I hoped would be an olive branch, only to have the door shut in my face. Those moments are never easy, but they do remind me of something important: just because God puts something on your heart doesn’t always mean it’s meant to be spoken out loud. Sometimes the prayer is just between you and Him. Quiet faith can be the hardest but most powerful kind of faith.
On a brighter note, my “teeny girl” (I can’t stop calling her that even though she’s clearly growing up) found her homecoming dress, I made her massive senior homecoming mum, and most importantly she is diving headfirst into senior year activities. She even started a FFA Bible study at school with some friends. So proud of her!💜 We also scheduled her driving test—so now it’s crunch time behind the wheel. Parents, you know that mix of nerves and pride that comes with watching your teen prepare to hit the road. I’m definitely feeling it!
Meanwhile, I’ve started my new college semester—Go Leathernecks! I may have doubled my class load and stacked some of the harder courses all at once (what was I thinking?), but so far, I’m holding my own. The silver lining is that I’ll have some of the toughest classes behind me soon.
The husband is doing well, too. He’s been busy with work—which we’re grateful for as fall and shutdown season creep closer. Every job this year has been a blessing, and we’re hopeful for a strong finish to the season.
Between school and managing his social media full-time, I haven’t had as much space here as I’d like. But this blog is my fun corner of life, and I’ll keep showing up when I can.
So tell me—how’s your school year starting out? Have you hit the ground running, or are you already counting down to fall break? With October right around the corner, I’m itching to decorate for Halloween, but let’s be honest: with everything going on, I’ll probably get my yard together just in time for trick-or-treaters. Better late than never, right?
Here’s to new seasons, new lessons, and new blessings. 🍂🍁✨
