Hey y’all — I know I’m a little late, but May was a wild one for the Just Me, Him & The Dogs crew!

Between too much rain and too many responsibilities, we somehow still managed to squeeze in laughter, love, and just enough sunshine to remind us why we keep going. Our teenie girl wrapped up her last few weeks of junior year (senior year, here we come!), I took a breath between semesters, and Preston got a short break before 7-day work weeks return with the Texas heat.

We spent Memorial Day with family and friends — burgers on the grill, pool splashes between showers, and time to reflect on the people and freedoms we hold dear. We also cleaned and prepped inflatables for summer rentals and worked out a summer plan for our girl to soak up some well-earned fun.

Real talk: adulting is hard. Like really hard. Budgeting, planning, sacrificing, juggling — it’s not for the faint of heart. Sometimes I wish we could just skip that part. But then I remind myself: we’re doing it. Maybe we don’t get every single thing we want, but we’re creating moments that matter. Dinners with friends. Trips that may not be extravagant but are still filled with love. That’s what counts.

So if you’re in that in-between place — tired but trying, blessed but budgeted — I see you. I feel you. I am you. Let’s choose grace over grumbling and remember: it’s the little moments that build a life.

Here’s to June, to sunshine, to more memories in the making. And if you could skip one part of adulting…what would it be?
